Launching an LDS Robot Vacuum Under a European Retail Brand in 9 Weeks

How a European e-commerce brand launched an LDS robot vacuum under its own label in 9 weeks: white-label app, RED compliance, 1,000-unit run.

Result in one paragraph

A European e-commerce brand needed an LDS-navigation robot vacuum under its own label in time for a Q4 campaign. Youwang configured the V2L platform with a white-label app and Alexa/Google Assistant voice support, completed CE-RED compliance documentation, and shipped the first 1,000-unit production run 9 weeks after the configuration sheet was signed.

The starting condition

The brand had retail demand data but no appliance engineering team. It needed a mid-range robot vacuum — real mapping, app control, voice support — that could carry its brand and pass EU radio compliance without a 6-month development cycle of its own.

Measured results

Time from configuration sign-off to shipment
6+ months typical for a custom development 9 weeks
Platform selection with no mechanical changes made this possible.
App functionality at launch
Generic vendor app White-label app with brand identity, map view and scheduling
Alexa and Google Assistant verified on the brand's accounts pre-production.
EU compliance status at shipment
Unknown at quotation stage CE-RED documentation reviewed and confirmed before deposit
Radio test reports (EN 300 328, EN 301 489) shared during sampling.

What we changed, and why

  1. Configuration over customisation The brand selected the V2L LDS platform and locked the configuration on a specification sheet: 300 mm body, 3,000 Pa three-level suction, 330 ml electric-controlled integrated water tank and dust box, 2,600 mAh/14.8 V pack, and the white-label app carrying their brand name and colours. No mechanical changes were made — that decision is what kept the timeline honest.
  2. App and voice branding The white-label WiFi app was configured with the brand's identity, map view and scheduling, and Alexa/Google Assistant integration was verified with the brand's own developer accounts before production.
  3. Compliance first, not last CE-RED documentation for the platform was reviewed with the brand during sampling, alongside EN 300 328 and EN 301 489 radio reports, so the launch date never depended on an unknown test outcome.
  4. Production and packing The first run of 1,000 units went through per-unit end-of-line testing — suction, sensor calibration, charge cycles and WiFi pairing — and packed 4 units per carton to the brand's colour box artwork with documented container loading quantities.

“The configuration sheet decided everything. Every request that would have touched tooling was flagged the same day, and the ones we insisted on were priced honestly instead of silently added.”

Where this approach stops working

This programme worked because the brand accepted a platform configuration rather than a custom design. Custom mechanical development, proprietary app development from scratch and unverified compliance timelines are the three requests we decline to compress — a launch date built on any of them is not a date.
